What the Health demonstra ser uma continuação do documentário Cowspiracy, onde o narrador em primeira pessoa é o mesmo personagem e dá continuidade ao documentário anterior. No documentário Cowspiracy chegou-se a uma conclusão de que o viável para o planeta e saudável para as pessoas, assim como em respeito aos animais, onde a sustentabilidade é foco, é a manutenção de uma alimentação vegana.

Eu, sendo uma pessoa vegana, discordo em alguns pontos sobre o documentário “What The Health”, pois percebe-se claramente que todos os médicos que foram entrevistados, provável que sejam veganos, por recomendar uma alimentação vegana sem exceção. Porém, sem discordar e achar que o veganismo é o futuro e melhor para o planeta, assim como para as pessoas, acredito que esse documentário deveria ser produzido de forma imparcial.

Há momentos que são muito forçados para tentar convencer que o veganismo é o ideal, como, por exemplo, sobre o colesterol, onde é dito sempre que pessoas não veganas possuem colesterol mais elevados e que o colesterol é muito prejudicial à saúde. Nesse ponto discordo plenamente! Sou uma pessoa que estuda muito a medicina integrativa e procuro manter-me atualizado e informado sobre o que é real e o que é manipulação da indústria farmacêutica. Sem entrar a fundo sobre o colesterol, posso dizer que ele é extremamente importante para nosso organismo, por exemplo, para o cérebro e para produção de testosterona que é produzida a partir do colesterol. O colesterol é responsável por centenas de processos importantes no organismo, e no filme ficou claramente explícito que o colesterol é algo muito ruim.

Um ponto que achei muito interessante é aonde demostra que as organizações que deveriam tratar, por exemplo, da diabetes, do câncer e outras, são patrocinadas e sustentadas pelas empresas que causam a diabetes e o câncer. Também achei interessante a parte onde mostram pessoas dependentes de medicamentos e com a saúde muito debilitada, apenas mudando a alimentação para algo saudável, vegana, conseguiram melhoras em dias, e os remédios e a má alimentação mantiveram-nas doentes por anos.

No geral acho que esse documentário, se assistido com um olhar crítico, faz ao menos pensar que as coisas não são como apresentam para nós ou como a maioria acha que é.
